Farflung is a free daily geography game, a quiz you answer on a map of the world. Each day’s expedition is five prompts, and for each you pin one country on the map. Every prompt has several right answers, and rarer answers take you further: for a country where German is an official language, Germany counts, but Belgium carries you much further.
Farflung describes a place a great distance away, or something spread over a very large area: a farflung island, a farflung family. It’s far and flung, as in thrown a long way. In the game, Farflung is also the top rarity, and every prompt has at least one gem: a surprising answer with that rarity.
Open farflung.cc in a browser on your phone or computer and press Play Daily Expedition. You can play online as a guest, with nothing to download. Read the prompt, tap the map to place your pin on a country, and press Drop pin. Take your time over each prompt, or choose a 60 second clock in Difficulty. How to play has the full rules.
Yes. Farflung is published by Farflung LLC, and farflung.cc is its official home. A site elsewhere that uses the name is not this game, and its prompts, answers and rulings are not ours. The official accounts are @playfarflung on Instagram, TikTok and X, and r/farflung on Reddit.

The rarer an answer, the further it takes you. Each is Common, Uncommon, Rare or Elusive, by how seldom it comes to mind, and a few of the least expected are Farflung, which go furthest of all. A pin on a country that doesn’t fit the prompt is a miss.
Tell us from camp: “Should something else count?” under a card’s answers opens a short form. Sign in, pick the country and say why. If the claim is upheld, the answer is added and pins already on it count. We reply in the game within a week, and the rules we decide by are on the rulings page.
Yes, we plan to add a mobile app. Until then, you can play Farflung in a browser on your phone or computer.
